I am so glad we have kids. not just because I'm really genuinely grateful for my children, but grateful that their grandparents will never let them "suffer." Svend and I, alone, could tough out aLOT of things. But our kids, like any parent, we want to shelter them. And, Grandparents do too.

Svend and I are the "youngest" in our families. We both have 3 older siblings. Both our parents were in similar situations we are in right now. Living the dream. No one really wants to live it, but you have to live it to get to the real dream. Anyways, by the time Svend and I came along in our families, things were pretty settled and we got to experience "the great life." I think our older siblings probably remember things slightly different. Smaller houses. Less stuff, tighter budgets, etc. By the time our youngest is the age of our oldest, things will be alot different in our home. Even with this said, we have to be happy now. If we are not happy now, we will not be happy 5 years from now. And, what happens if things don't really change..? We have to be happy with whatever life we are living to be happy with our future.
