day one.

Working on my relationship with Tally :) Hard, since we have nearly zero time alone together and Svend isn't really home anymore so that I can be one on one with her. BUT, I've decided that each day I would only look for the good in her. Every day, make it a point to let her know how amazing she is. This was really sparked in me when a few nights ago I was putting her to bed and telling her how special she is to me and how grateful I am that she's the oldest in our family. She told me how she wished Bergen were older because he's better at being a big sibling than her. She went in to more detail and it basically came down to the fact that she felt incapable of being the biggest sister.
So, today we laughed alot. When she started to be a stinker, I tickled her instead of scolding her. It was so much better. The icing on the cake was after I put the kids to bed, she came down stairs and said "tomorrow you will owe me a big thank you" I asked why and she replied "i've been upstairs matching all the socks." What? "I wanted to come downstairs but there was such a big pile of socks that I decided to fold them." Wow. We hugged and I told her how much I loved her and was so grateful for her.
She has so much responsibility on her little shoulders and is such a wonderful do-gooder. She is the best first child I could have ever asked for. We are both learning alot in this family of ours. Me, how to be a parent and her, how to be a child. Love that girl! :)
