The Dentist

So, today Tally and I went to the dentist. Being on Medicaid for nearly 5 years really takes a toll on teeth...mainly from the quality (or lack there of) of dentist. We have finally found a wonderful dentist! Adults aren't covered for preventative care for dental on Public aid, so Svend and I have not had cleanings for *cough* 4 years. So...today I got my first cleaning in a long time. I have ZERO cavities which is about the 3rd time in my nearly 30 years of life that this has been the report...so I'm happy.

Tally has to have a tooth pulled. Yep. I am mother of the year on this one. I made her an appointment 2 months ago to get checkup/cleaning. The dentist wouldn't do it because it had only been 4 months since her last one. I should have persisted but since she wasn't complaining about anything, I didn't see the point. Then, about a month later she showed me a bump on her gum... I thought it was a canker sore and told her to gargle. Svend and I both did...well, apparently that "sore" was an infection. Awesome. And, she didn't complain about it again, so of course I forgot. Wow. So now, in 2 weeks the tooth will be pulled. Thankfully it's a baby tooth.Ugh. Poor kid!
