maybe I'm mean...

so at parent/teacher night a little while ago, we were all sitting around with the teacher asking questions, getting info, etc. This one mom raises her hand and tells the *gasp* horrible story about how her daughter said she needed a Bears shirt to wear the next day at school. There was no note and the poor child didn't remember until bedtime. Well, there were no bears shirts in the house. how sad! And, the next morning, there just wasn't enough time to rush to the store to buy the poor child one. The little girl cried all through her breakfast and on the way to school. Forever humiliated that she did not "fit in" with her classmates. The mom was very angry at the teacher. Where was the note? Where was the warning? If only she'd had some IDEA that it was "wear your bear shirt to school day" then she would have been able to go out and pay $$$ to buy her daughter one! GASP!

Seriously? SUCK. IT. UP! Guess what? We don't have a "bear's shirt." Guess, what? It was an announcement over the intercom from the principal who just does those things on the fly. It wasn't an "all school thing." Your daughter wasn't alone. Mine was right there with her--haha. And, if you had gotten notice, would you have seriously gone out and purchased her a shirt just to wear on those "on the fly" days? Wow. Maybe I'm mean.... :)
