presenting... dinner!

first, just a few things...
1. I told Svend last night that I now work from 7am to 7pm. Seriously. I think this will help me get the motivation to do all the things I need to do throughout the day, rather than putting them off until evening when all I want to do is read or blog.. so far, so good :)
2. Tonight, Tabitha fell asleep in her highchair. I have NEVER had a kid do that... anyways, since she was in bed, and we still had an hour before bedtime, I pulled out the computer and took the kids through our blog so they could watch videos of themselves when they were Tabs and Brooky's ages. They had a blast! Tomorrow, we will continue.
3.I love my kids so much. I read "My sister's keeper" and it really affected me, for the good. It brought my attention back to how much I really care for and love my kids. And...how I need to show it all the time. I am good at saying it, but I am not always aware when I'm not showing it.
4. Tally lost tooth number 8 tonight! seriously? she's not even 7 yet! My word kiddo!!

Okay... Presentation is EVERYTHING...even to a 4 .5 year old. Tonight I made this super good dinner. It was a quesadilla lasagna type them (McCormick Inspirations--TOTALLY worth finding in the spice isle). It was basically beef, beans, corn, tomato sauce, and spices layered with cheese and tortillas. So, I made it and put servings one everyone's plate. Bergen is my trouble maker when it comes to dinner. he loves all types of food, but doesn't like them mixed together. So to eat a salad, he would eat a couple pieces of lettuce, then maybe some carrotts...etc. So, there was the typical pouty face and "I don't wike this" (that is not a type-o). I talked to him about it, made some bribes...but no go. I finally told him he had to try it before he could ask me for anything different. Two bites..yuck.

So, I took it away and:
scraped all the filling into a tortilla
folded it in half
microwaved for a minute
cut it into to triangles
and wouldn't you know it...? He ate the darn thing with ZERO complaints. Stinker!

Same food, different look. Oh, his poor wife! :)
