My "nap" time

As one can imagine, naps for mommies are few and far between when there are little kids in the house. It's been quite the experience trying to get Tabitha to continue taking naps.. she's only 22 months old and desperately still needs them. It's also been hard with the big kids being quiet enough for Tabitha to feel like she's not missing out. And then there's Brooklyn... who hates being left alone for long periods of time...

So, here's what we've come up with:
Everyone does their own thing until I get Brooklyn to sleep...
Big Kids watch a movie or just BE QUIET and NICE.
Tabitha says good night to everyone and I take her to bed. Since she's in a big girl bed,I can't just leave her...she is notorious for coming out over and over again.
So, I take this small opportunity to "nap" or atleast rest my eyes. I lay in her bed with her while she acts like the sloth on iceage and proceeds to roll around and shift her body, sit up and fall face first into her pillow, punch the air, kick her feet, squeeze into the area between the bed and the wall...and then finally, she falls asleep.
I've accomplishe 2 things...rested for a minute (usually 10-15) and now I have 2 hours without babies :) SOOO worth it.

what's better is when she falls asleep in the car... then we can skip all the stuff and I just get to actually nap without the threat of a punch to the nose. :)

  1. A childproof lock on the inside of the door works wonders for us on Tyler. I think having Hailey at school will help Andrew be more quiet because when she's gone, he plays very quietly. When she's here, they PLAY all over the house.

We'll see how I do when the new baby comes!!
