The Library

After a playdate for 3 hours today, I took the kids to the library. Bergen brought me book after book while Brooklyn watched us read them. Tally read a book then bugged Tabitha and Tabitha started throwing tantrums.

Helpful: The lady in the checkout line offered to check my books out for me while I dealt with the kids. I declined and decided to just leave.
Not helpful: the "gateway guy" who just watched me like I was from outer space and stood annoyed with me and my kids (probably just in my head)
Helpful: the fruitsnacks i remembered I'd brought. I gave them to Tabitha and Bergen, then sent Tally to watch them while I checked out the books.
Helpful: The lady (same one) who asked me if they were all mine, told me (sincerely) that it must be hard and just smiled.
Not helpful: The librarian taking the time to ask why I didn't have my library card and was using my license. That was 20 precious seconds!
Not helpful: the police-woman telling Bergen to "be careful buddy" at the revolving door that happens to be empty and moves as slow as dirt anyways... and then watches carefully as I gather my kids and take them to the car. It didn't help that as we arrived, she watched us just as carefully too.
