Going to the pool with 2 is a CINCH! HOLY cow!! E.A.S.Y! One in a lifevest and the other as your buddy. SIMPLE.
Getting 2 to bed. Piece of cake! One in the crib and another in bed.
Going to the store. A breeze! One in the cart and one holding on to the cart...or better yet, both in the cart!
4....
going to the pool.... one independent who refused to wear her floaty because "she can swim!", one that wears his lifejacket and is just fine wherever... one who hasn't mastered a life jacket so she's floopy and also goes to the deepest part of the pool to try to jump in without you, and an infant that screams with the heat or has to be held... YA RIGHT!
going to bed... 2 independents who keep coming out of bed for something that just can't wait til tomorrow. You know, important things like "um um um...I was just thinking when our basement flooded..." GO TO BED! Then a baby that needs it quiet and her eyes are ever so droopy...she just needs that last little pat...until "MOM!!!" because the 1.5 year old is still running rampant and feels the need to scream every 3 seconds!
going to the store...where to put everyone? (basic shopping cart) Apparently the 6 year old can't walk because it's just not fair that everyone else gets to ride...but I force her anyways... after lots of complaining, she finds a spot on the front of the cart. The 4 year old (who hasn't complained yet) sees the 6 year old and proceeds to push and shove until both are forced to walk... The 1.5 year old sits in the front complaining and screaming the entire time. The baby sits in the back and takes up the entire shopping cart. Good thing I only came for a candy bar right? because that's all that would fit! (target jumbo shopping cart) 2 bucket seats, and one front seat... 4 kids... well, 6 year old is booted with the strong reminder that "whoever gets off, loses their seat." that's not enough for the 6 year old so she then makes 3 seats out of 2 and now I have scooting and fighting and shoving the whole time. This then goes one of two ways... everyone's walking and I'm stuck pushing this ginormous shopping cart with just the baby or everyone deals and we get through the store...
So, while the screaming and complaining hasn't changed much, the quantity has caused quite the shift in how I do things...2 was hard while i was in the thick of it...but looking back I should have relished in it!
