adopted.

The hardest part about going through trials is not having family near by. For 8 years I've been jealous of my sisters in law and friends who live by family. However, I definitly feel that our little family has grown closer as we've had to always depend more on eachother than reaching out. While Svend was gone for 3 months and I was super pregnant, I was blessed with 2 angels. A wonderful friend who came over regularly just to give me adult converstation and help me clean up and entertain kids. She helped me de-stress. Another was a ward member who came over nearly once a week and watched the girls while I took Bergen to school and ran errands or went to drs appointments.
This same ward member has 'adopted' us in a way. What a blessing. We are so grateful. She apologized to me a month ago because they were going out of town and would be gone for 3 weeks. Really? Then when she got back, she came right up to me at church and told me what day and what time she would be over to grab the 3 older kids. Seriously? This is the 2nd week she's been back in town and she just picked them up (again) to go to the kid movie and lunch. She has truly been a blessing in our lives. We are so grateful. The kids feel like their grandparents are close again. They have someone to look forward too. Even Tabitha is exicted and willingly goes to her now even at church!
It is a wonderful feeling to be adopted. They have helped us out so much this past year. Svend and I are extremely grateful. I hope that when our kids are grown and have their own families, that we can 'adopt' a family who needs it too.

  1. that is so awesome to always have someone there. I LOVE not living near family just because you have to do so much for yourselves and it always brings us closer as a family and I LOVE IT. Love you guys and what a great family you are
