My daughter (speaking of Talia) is super OCD about a few things.
One minor thing is in what she wears. It must match. By match I mean...exact same colors. So purple shirt requires purple pants or shorts or skirt. Jeans go with anything but are not her first choice. It doesn't even matter if the "blues" completely clash...they are both blue, so they work. Annoys me! But... I let her express herself in this way and so who cares. It's not me :) And...atleast she's daring! Rather than wearing jeans and a t-shirt every day like me.
The big thing, however is that she would rather starve than eat without washing/sanitizing her hands. This is getting bad... I know we drilled it in her at a young age...washing hands after using the bathroom or touching gross things...but now it's ALL the time. I'm pretty sure that school has helped take it to the extreme. We were at the park the other day and I pulled out food for the kids. She wouldn't eat. She finally managed to eat buy holding everything with the plastic baggy it came in and slowly pushing it up.
Last weekend we went to a car show. The girls had to use the bathroom but there wasn't any soap. She flipped... and became teary... we walked around for a bit and then went to Costco to do some shopping. Before we shopped we bought the kids hot dogs. She was shaking her legs in nervousness just begging to run to the bathroom to correctly wash her hands before eating. Svend said "no" and that she was fine. She started to really cry. I sent her to the bathroom. Man... what have we created???
