in awe

Last night, within 5 minutes of Svend getting home, we had a family who he home-teaches come over. Their son has banged up his ankle REALLY badly. We are talking DOUBLE the size it should be. and the injury happened 5 days ago! They don't have great insurance and really just wanted to know if he needed an x-ray.

I love watching my husband in "dr. mode."  The kid was 17 so he explained everything on his level.  He brought out his plastic study foot and showed the kid everything.  It was fun to sit and watch him examine this kid with honesty and love for what he does.  It's funny because even though it'd been a rough day, our house was a disaster, and Svend had JUST walked in the door at 8:30, I loved that moment.  He did too.  It's like I got a glimpse into our future...when Svend is in his own practice and people really, truly need his opinion and advice. It's weird and amazing to be at this point. After all that schooling and trial, for him to have this knowledge ingrained in him. To be a part of it.  My husband, the Dr.
