on break

We've had a great 2 weeks! (well, last week and this week as I'm SURE this week will be great too). Last week Svend only had 2 full days of clinic... the other 3 days he was home by late afternoon! It was WONDERFUL! This week he only has a 1/2 day today, so if he gets his notes done he may be home before dinner! Tomorrow night my parents come to town til sunday night! WAHOOO!!! We've all been looking forward to that!

Speaking of breaks...today we went to a GREAT friend's house to play and now the older two are at another friend's house playing :) I uh... slept :)

I signed the kids up for "sports." Bergen is doing soccer and Talia is doing cheerleading/gymnastics. I tell you what, THAT was a hole in my pocket. Thankfully I had babysitting money saved up for it. We're trying to get a semi-scholorship for soccer and possibly one for Tabitha to do dance... we'll see.

Our tax return was wonderful, but we've used all we needed and put the rest in savings...so it's back to reality and tight wallets. But it's nice to know there is a safety net in case we need it. I also start babysitting the baby in 3 weeks... that'll be nice til we move.

With our tax return, we put just over 1/2 in savings and used the other half to pay off our car repairs/tires, bought a MAC, buy a carpet cleaner, pay for Board's 3, and pay off a few other bills that came up. We're hoping to buy a couch set once we move...and a tent so we can camp. Right now, the only tent we have is from when we were married and it's a 2 man...yeah, NOT GOING TO WORK :)

My kids both want to play ice-hockey TERRIBLY bad. The kid I babysit plays and Talia plays floor hockey at school... We were going to sign them up for skating lessons, but of course I missed the boat on it and Bergen's class filled up. I can't just put Talia in it... so I'm hoping the insistence from my kids dies down. Svend really wants them to play... it's a REALLY expensive sport though. I am debating taking them to a one day clinic tomorrow to let them try out ice skating... we'll see.

I want my kids to be whatever they want to be and do what they want to do, but I can't go broke helping them chase their dreams...oh wait, I'm already broke! haha!! I'm hoping we can figure something out once we move. Actually what I'm really hoping is that they figure the skating thing out on their own so I don't have to pay for lessons AND hockey... but I doubt that'll happen.
