babysitting...

I babysit a 6 year old boy every day before and after school. I used to watch his sister, but she's 11 now, so she heads home instead. Anyways... we have this neighborhood kid who is 9 and is an only child. He is really annoying... basically a no-it-all, boss, unaware of the little kids...and says things I do NOT want my children learning. When it was warmer he would come over ALL the time. With the snow, we've kept him at bay... :) But now it's warmer. So today I took my 4 and the kid I babysit to the park. We were the ONLY one's there. It's our VERY small community park so it was GREAT. Then... mr 9 year old shows up. He tells me that it's okay he's here because I'm there and his mom is okay with it... OKAYYYY... but I'm NOT!! ERG.

I totally YELLED at him because I told all the kids (this is MY park now, since I'm the only adult and all kids "belong" to me) to stay off the equipment if they were going to play tag because my 2 year old and baby were playing on it and I did NOT want them getting pushed off... Anyway... My 10 month old is on the slide and down come these feet aimed right at her face and coming fast. I yell "OH MY GOSH!" then I see it's his face... I apologize and then remind him that I asked them to please not play tag on the equipment for this very reason...not to mention that if he had LOOOKEd he would have noticed me and my daughter at the bottom of the slide. ERG! He is not used to looking out for smaller kids and has asked me on more than one occasion to keep my 2 year old inside so she doesn't get in his way. SERIOUSLY KID? ERG. ....

We finally leave and the 6 year old goes home. I decided my kids and I are going for a bike ride... Mr 9 year old shows up...again. Oh fun, he says! I tell him we're going on trails. He runs to ask his mom...it's a no go. whew!
