Happy Mothers Day!! I have the sweetest little family. Baby Girl gave me a book of questions her teacher asked each of the kids in her class with all the classmates answers. BabyGirl got my age right--whew! i feel bad for the mom who's kid said she was 57...unless she's really 60 :) She said I look pretty "on Sunday" and that I'm really good at "being reverant at church." She also said the one thing I say to her every day is "I love you, have a good day!" as she gets on the bus. Bugs gave me flowers--actually he's been giving me flowers every day for the past week, but he was so glad to get to go to the store last night with daddy and BUY my flowers. He got some for each of his sisters and Grandma too :)
I was thinking about the reason it's called "Mother's day" when we really celebrate women (regardless of if they're mothers). Why not call it "women's day?" I'll tell you why (or atleast my conclusion). If it were "women's day," We would probably celebrate how women have "overcome" their feminimity. How now we are nearly "equal" to men. How we are just as strong. Etc. However, having "mother's day" means we are recognizing our true and divine purpose. Mother or not, we have the power to "mother." This is truly a gift. I am grateful for my mother and all the other "mother's" in my life. I'm grateful for all those who help "mother" my children. We have been blessed with so many wonderful women-women who embrace children.
