dangerous ground...simplified

I'm sure lots of people, especially women, saw Hilary Rosen's comments about Ann Romney never working a day in her life. Because of this fact, Ann never had to worry about how to feed her children or worry about where they would go to school. I thought this was so funny. I wasn't quite sure if she was saying it because Ann is "rich" or just because she was a stay at home mom. Regardless, as a stay at home mom, I am more aware of the economy than my working husband. I know prices and I can tell when they have gone up or down. I worry about how I am going to feed my children and I worry about how to pay for things...even $5 elementary school fees!

So, in the end, Ann responded basically "I respect all women and their choices." I agree. I do to.

Then I thought...great! Now people will attack Mitt for his current (hehe) pro-life stance. Because it's a "woman's choice" to decide about their baby...and here Mitt and his wife are saying they respect all women's choices. I didn't want to eat my words either!

But here's what it boils down to. I respect all women and their choices. Women who "choose" to have sex without protection have made their choice. The consequence of a baby is no longer part of their "choice." Just like you can make the choice to steal...but you don't get to choose your punishment. OBVIOUSLY I stand with my religion that in the cases of incest, rape, or mother's life is in serious danger abortion can be considered and appropriate. In those cases, the woman did not make the choice.

Anyway, Mitt, if you get slammed with the abortion topic, here's your answer ;)
