annoying blessing

We are still on public aid, for now anyways...the good is that we don't pay a dime for it...the bad is finding a doctor who 1.isn't frustrated with you 2. will take you within a decent amount of time and 3.is close enough that it doesn't cost as much in gas as it would to just be a cash patient.

when my son had his head stuff, it was a huge blessing. I don't know WHAT it would have cost us to visit and neurosurgeon several times AND get all those tests! It took about a month to get in, but the doctors were WONDERFUL and we loved them.

Now, my baby needs an ophthalmologist. She has a bit of a crossed eye/lazy eye. So, today we got a referral from our pediatrician and then I set out to find a dr who would accept medicaid... nearly two hours later and about 15 phone calls, I have an appointment! In the month... oh well :) At least they were nice to me on the phone and the clinic looks decent...

We find out if we are still on medicaid next week...as much as a pain the butt it is need we need a specialist, it really has been a life saver! We won't qualify for free anymore, so we'll have a co-pay...but still better than what we'd have to pay for "real" insurance. I just wish the govt would get on the ball with paying back drs...then more would accept it. And, I'm still super excited for the moment we make enough money to afford private insurance!
