One exciting thing about starting 2nd year is that Svend can moonlight at nursing homes clipping toenails! WAHOO!! And last night he spoke to a bunch of highschools about podiatry and got some moolah :)
I'm worried a bit about our new budget. In about 4 weeks we'll see what our new paycheck with look like...the one with more money on it :) Hoping it's enough to cover all the expenses includeing the $300 rent hike we took by moving closer to work... hopefully we'll see the benefits in using less gas for the car...
I saw a friend from chicago in my parents ward on Sunday (texas). She has moved her! SWEET! Anyway, we talked and it was so interesting to me because they have 2 kids and she said they barely were making it on $80,000! I looked at her and said..."yeah, we live on $45,000. Her chin DROPPED! Haha. Granted, we are all on medicaid...but I doubt insurance costs $35,000 a year...so for us to be squeaking by on 45,000 is pretty amazing. I'm so proud of ourselves. I just need to give myself a GIANT pat on the back :) haha. And, we've paid off 1/3 of our van :) WAHOO!!! If THAT payment went away, we'd be SET! Of course... I don't want to be at 45,000 my whole life :) But still... struggling at nearly double what we're making with half the kids? I'm grateful we've been okay!
