Last night we went for a family walk... Bergen said he wanted to have tombstones outside our house for Halloween. I told him that it would be fun to make some and we could out of cardboard. Tally asked why we always had to MAKE things while other people just buy them. I said because we are poor and don't have the money for things like that.
What I should have said... Bergen ripped off the front of his new school shoes with the way he stops on his scooter. I should have told tally last night "we can't BUY things like that when you brother is walking around with shoes held together with duct tape!" There.
Last night we talked about goals to make our family better this week.
Tally said she would do her homework..but then we talked about maybe her loving a little more and not getting upset when we ask her questions and listening.
Bergen said he would be nice and not mean
Tabitha said something like she would play
Svend said he would clean the house...after church he was in a purging mood. No JOKE! I nearly chased him down at the dumpster as he tried throwing things away that COST MONEY and could be SOLD for MONEY!!! GRRRR!!!! I told him to give me 2 weeks...THEN he can donate them.
My goal was to budget better so that maybe we can have some left over money and the kids can do sports...like they really really want to do. I'll try...
My real goal should have been : no yelling at the kids when I get frustrated with them, trying harder to be a fun mom.
--we watched Enchanted last night. At the end, they are running through their house dancing. Bergen said "why can't we have fun like that?" I said I'd love to and asked if we should turn on some music and dance around. Svend said it was dumb. Bergen said he didn't want music on. He wanted to be the music with his new harmonica... ummm..needless to say, we didn't run through the house dancing to music.
I need to be a more fun mom!!!!!!!!
