Here are the first three:
1. Thankful for the residency. Duh. Without it, Svend could not become a full-fledged DPM.
2. Thankful for blessings from sacrifice. Without getting too personal....here's the long story short... we fed the Missionaries a while back. I was told they had appetites... we had basically food in our fridge/pantry to make one type of dinner. And... we had a few days til "relief" arrived in the form of food. So, feeling like the woman preparing that last of their food for the prophet, I made the dinner and used everything to double/triple it...thinking we'd live off it a few days. I admit, I was really scared. Svend would say "I don't know WHY you were worried about it" but I was genuinely nervous. Anyways, they came, they ate...and ate....and ate. It was all gone. So, for the next few days, we literally ate everything out of our pantry and fridge til it was gone. Relief came in several forms after this episode. My mom came to town for a week...then, a few weeks later when we were near a similar situation, Svend brought home TONS of food from work. We ate off that for nearly a week! Then, when we weren't in the dyer circumstance, we got even more food which meant our money stayed in the bank :) . So yes. With sacrifice comes great blessings!
3. Grateful we are being "weaned" off govt aid. Because we make $12 ...we will lose over $700 in aid. Boo. But...I am grateful we weren't booted off all aid and that even though we will lose a lot after the new year when we re-apply, I am so grateful we weren't thrown completely off the minute we started residency. That has been a HUGE blessing and stress relief!
