Not so single

Because I'm staying with my parents/brother for the week :)
Because my hubby got her Friday night and was able to spend the weekend with us :)

This 2 weeks is very bitter-sweet. Timing is everything. It always has been. And the Lord's timing is everything. Hubby is working just two hours from my parent's this month and my little brother is home on leave for these two weeks that we came down. So...our family gets to all be together--sweet. My little brother leaves for Afganistan this month--bitter.

But, while we are together we are making the most of it. I feel very blessed and spoiled getting to spend so much time with my little brother. I have 3 older brothers and then there is an 8year gap between my little brother and me. I think out of everyone we are the closest...or have tried to be over the years anyway. I got married when he was 13years old and left home when he was 9. But, I was the only one home with him really those nine years. So, now here we are getting to spend so much more time with him. My kids are lucky because they too get to spend so much more time with him then their other cousins. So yes, we are spoiled.

It was wonderful having hubby with us these three days. I finally got to "be pregnant." Which is a HUGE deal!!! I look at all these new moms and just think "enjoy it woman! because soon you'll be pregnant AND have 1 or 2 kids pulling on your legs as you walk and you won't get to act like being pregnant is such a big deal.

EXAMPLE: I took the kids to IHOP for free pancakes...by myself and 8 months prego....as we're walking out, I'm holding Sweets over my belly, have Bugs by the collar and telling BabyGirl to stay close. This couple walks in and the woman is cradling her belly and "looking" the "I'm sooooo prego look" and then she sees me. HAHAHAHAHA !!! I had to laugh! It was soooo funny. Her hand dropped from her belly...the other one left her "aching back" and she walked normal. Sooo funny!!!!! But...cherish the moments....because like I said... you can really only act pregant with the first!

Anyways.... one more week of getting to act prego! :) Then it's back home.....

Why single?

I remember being engaged and thinking "I can't wait til we're married and we can be together ALL the time." A married friend of mine said "yeah right. We see eachother less now." I didn't believe her :) Well, one month after graduation, babygirl came along. Hubby had a crappy job and didn't get any days off. Luckly she was born on a Sunday. We lived away from any family and dealt for a few days til help arrived. (more like cried and ate toast while never putting down a nursing baby). More school for hubby and Bugs came along. Hubby's don't get maternity leave when they're students...so again we dealt for a few days until help arrived. Moved onto Grad school. Took hubby to carpool every morning @ 6am and picked him up at 5:30pm. Dinner and kids in bed by 6:30 then studying til 10pm. Got a second car (hooray!) which allowed the kids to stay up later and sleep in...thus getting to see daddy more. 3rd year of grad school brought Sweets with it. Hubby got my text to meet me at the hospital. Left school and came over. Back at school the next day. No tears. Lots of help with friends this time :) And family arrived before I was even discharged! Baby #4 came 2 months before graduation…and shortly after we learned we did not match. ..so no job or place to go. we made it though-as you will see. Our caboose arrived at the beginning of our last year in residency. I started this blog when just 3 were at home. It's been a place for me to vent, rejoice, and basically be honest and real with out situation and that of many other students/residents/beginning doctors. Now are in our first year of our career and already we have seen several lows…but we keep chugging forward…and I'm happy to report, I'm not so single any more!
