staying in the boat

Not sure where my mind was at the last post…but here's where it is now…

Svend started "working."  He still has no contract as we sent it back for some changes…which Jackman agreed to :)

He gets his first paid day on Friday. He's getting $300 per half day and $600 per full day until his contract kicks in April 15th.   So…for now it's Jackman giving him some days that he wants off.  We are grateful for that.

I think we are going to rent…unless a miracle happens. I am not okay with renting but I think it's the right thing to do. Unfortunately.  It's frustrating but again…I think it's the right thing to do…

We are getting a 7k tax return.  So, our PLAN is to pay off the van with the $4k we have in the bank. Use 1-2k for car repairs, pay off my tooth, and then save use another 1k for a deposit on a rental and then leave the rest in savings… things always change, but this is our hope.

I think we will have to rent March 1st.  That way we're out of here before my parents are. I know it sounds selfish, but I do not want to help them pack. I'm tired of packing!  and they have a very full house!

Svend will probably only make about $1200 for the month of February. Thankfully all our bills have been paid with savings.  March he will get to work the entire week of Spring Break so…. about $3000 that week. We will be okay.

Today Svend is working on getting his OK license. That only costs about $500 with all the verifications/test he has to pay for. Yuck. But…it has to be done.

After he's an employee, these things will be paid for/funded from here on out.

I asked Svend if he like working at the office…. if there was a big difference between it and Hayes. He said yes but the pay sucks. Later I said "If pay wasn't an issue, would you choose to work with Jackman over all the other jobs you've looked at. He said "yes."  Hopefully the pay will grow like we expect. Then we can buy a real house and not just a little one we would struggle to sell so we could upgrade….plus, I don't know that we'll want to stay in anna… but my parents are moving to van alstyne…and svend would love to live there but right now tensions are high and we need a break from each other, so maybe next year we'll be able to buy there!

I'm sad to move… I JUST made a friend last week and Bergen's is friends with her son and they are SO excited to hang out… Bergen is excited to start school a little later though and Tally I think is ready to move…

anyway, that's where we're at. Holding on by a thread but at least we can see the thread!!

But we are staying int eh boat. that old ship zion. we're holding on with faith and it'll all work out.

I've been exercises a LOT. like every day for 4 weeks I think and HARD. I haven't seen a drop in weight but i am getting more toned…so that's the important part. I just need to remember that!  It's been good and I've been working out with Melonie Florsic (a friend from high school). We both have 3 littles in the day care and 5 kids total--so it's NICE to be with someone who gets it!
