Today Bergen was baptized as a memeber of our church. Our catholic friends, the Phillips came. Jex and Deanna flew in, all my brothers were there (except Jordan who is in California). Uncle Bruce and Ashley were there. It was a great day. Bergen is such a sweet sweet boy. He is a rule follower-almost to a fault. Something has clicked in this little boy of mine today. Maybe it's the "high" of the Holy Ghost but he has just really been perfect today. Without a doubt--perfect! Right now he is laying on the couch filling out his baptism journal. Deanna and Jex gave him scriptures which I am grateful for and Bergen was beyond thrilled for. The Phillips gave him a card and some money. Cash wrote him a sweet little note about his baptism day. It was just wonderful. THe girls sang a song "Nephi's courage." On the last chorus, we all joined it. Oh the SPIRIT!!!
At dinner, Bergen said to me with tears in his eyes, "I wish Uncle NIls were here to bless me with Dad." He is such a sweet sweet boy. Nils passed away at age 10 when SVend was 2. He barely remembers him but Bergen carries his name well. Even now as I type I can feel the spirit strong and I wish Nils could have been there physically too. I told Bergen he was there. We just couldn't see him. BUt he was there. I know he was and Bergen felt the reassurance that he was there too. I told Bergen he should talk to Grandma about NIls and learn all he could from her about him. I told Deanna what he had told me and my response. I know she is waiting for the moment he asks her to tell him about Nils.
Bergen truely is a special boy. He is so wonderful and I know he will be an example to those around him throughout his life. I'm so grateful he's in our family. I'm so grateful he came when he did.
