moved to a new school…first e-mail sent to a teacher...

Thank you for willingly taking Bergen into your classroom.  I hope it will be a good fit for him. He is nervous but ready and willing to learn.  He mentioned tonight that he was doing a research on a woman and he got Shakira.  Is this right?  He wasn't quite sure on the name but that's what he thought it was. If this is right, please have him choose a different person. I do not feel Shakira is an appropriate role model, especially for a second grader. Bergen is very aware of things such as pornography and how hurtful it is. If he sees a picture of her, he will be very upset, as will I.  Her songs are inappropriate too.  Bergen is a very straight-arrow kid, occasionally too much so (sorry if he tattles too much!).  Again, I hope I am mistaken and that Bergen misheard or misread… but if not, please have him choose a more appropriate role model.
