home… not

We have been denied any sort of mortgage loan. bluh. it's okay except we also can't afford to move into a rental. Svend received his first pay check for 2 weeks of work… $850. wow. that was mostly made up of co-payments tho because medicaid isn't reimbursing very well-go figure! everyone wants free healthcare including the government!

we have been at my parents now for 5+weeks. it actually doesn't feel like that long especially now that svend is working. We have been house hunting just for fun but it really isn't fun when you can get anything. we did get one mortgage approval. we just need 30 days of pay stubs showing we're on a path to earning 70k… which means we need paystubs equaling a lot more that 850! we'll get there.

for now we are registering the kids at reed elementary. it's 1/2 a mile from my parents so the kids get to walk or ride a bike. they are super excited. we will be out of here tho regardless by christmas. we don't want the kids getting pulled out in the middle of anything so that will be a good break…if we make it that long! hopefully we can save 16k by that point--wierd to think we could actually save that much money in 6 months…we'll see!  praying we can though.

we have our first student loan bills… so far is 232 and 78…we are waiting to find out our payment for our consolidated loan totaling around 279k….so i am not sure what that payment will be…a LOT! should be under 800 a month. we started working on our budget last night…just an excel sheet with all our bills. bluh. not fun.

I think I will start building food storage while living here and just put it in our actual storage unit. we will have our pod here this week and unload into a unit to cut back on that payment and have access to all the kid's stuff and our stuff since we really just packed for 2 months..

dad and I were on the news last night--and the kids running around in the background.  they had stopped us while I was cleaning out the car and asked if we had any comments on the allen stadium that is shut down b/c of repairs. dad had a lot to say. it was pretty cool/embarrassing/sweet.

Svend wants us to come eat lunch with him this week. LOVE him.  He loves us ;)

met some friends at the park and now the kids have park dates with them as often as they want. pretty sweet.  :)

Svend and I are giving talks in church…mine is something about gratitude… I forgot svend's talk.

I am teaching a class on thursday about 3 month food storage. I am at a loss…. but hoping I can give SOMETHING! after all I did do that dominicks raid and we lived of pancakes for about 3 months ;)
