blessings

We bought 12 hamburgers to pass out. 11 were left after Tally and Tabitha couldn't wait any longer in the car line at the airport to grab Svend. I asked Bergen if he wanted to split one too. He said "no. I can be a little hungry. I want to give those to the people who have no food." Melt my heart. We got Svend and went to the bridge...and had a green light and missed the guy. grr. I started to cry. I could see the one man still out begging in the 20 degree weather (probably felt like 5) and we passed him.  Svend said "what do you want me to do? turn around?!" I said a quiet yes. And he did.  We raced back and I prayed the light would stay red for us to pass them on to the man. All 11.  It did and He said he would pass them out to the others under the bridge. I wished I'd had blankets to pass out too.  Tally said "At least he had a coat" and he did.  He said "God bless!" and I yelled it right back to him with tears in my eyes. Tally was holding back tears too. What a WONDERFUL feeling and a wonderful thing to teach our children. Svend works just past that bridge a lot...I told him he needs to take some blankets and toss them to the people next time he is over there.  We agreed we'd do that.

We paid our $150 tithing yesterday then Svend and I had the same epiphany at the same time but when we were apart. We are $300 over paid in tithing! We got a huge paycheck and paid tithing on it...and now the VA is taking that money back because we were over paid.  What a blessing and what a time for it to come. Our kids can have Christmas :) and more importantly we have enough to help us get through to live off... heck, we could use the $300 to re-enroll in hockey/skating...but I don't think we'll use it for that. Probably bills... it covers 1.5 of Svend's new car payment.  or nearly a 1/2 month of groceries. Anyway, it will be used and needed and we can stay out of the Bishop's store house :)  We ar blessed and now, like always, I am grateful for the "Trial" of the VA screwing up our paycheck...sort of! ;)
