To Tabitha, on your birthday

Tabitha!
Today you are 4 years old!!! I am so grateful you are in our family. You bring so much life and fun to our home with the *occasional drama. You are very head strong and persistant. You know what you want and you do what you can to get it. Your siblings love you and you love them. You love to hold your new baby brother, Anders. You could hold him all day if I let you! Your best friend is definitely Tally, but Brooklyn is not far behind...and probably tied with Bergen. You love to do what Tally is doing and wish you could be older. You talk with one hand on your hip and the other hand is used to help tell the story. You love to sing! You love Strawberry Shortcake and Doc Mcstuffins. Today for your birthday, you got to go iceskating with me! You love to skate and are very very good for a 4 year old! You weren't too thrilled that I had you let Brooklyn take a turn on your skates with me but were a good sport when I promised cake and presents at home. We went to Chickfilet for you, came home and had cake and presents. We played a few games but then you played with Tally. You even shared your Doc Mcstuffins doll with Brooklyn. You and Brooklyn have a love/hate relationship. Sometimes you are the BEST of friends. Sometimes it doesn't work out like that...but I hope that one day you will see how much you love each other and just how close you can be. You also love playing guns and fighting with Bergen. It wasn't too long ago that you and he would come downstairs with just shorts on because you'd been practicing boxing and boxers don't wear shirts! haha!! You love back rides and shoulder rides from dad. When Grandma was here, you asked her to just drive you to Texas and not the hospital to see baby Anders. :) You are in preschool at Tate-woods. You have mrs Toby for your teacher and you LOVE her. You are not too keen on going to school, but you are so smart and I think you need a break from brooklyn sometimes :) Daddy and I love you so much. We love your spunk and creativity. We love how you do what "Jesus wants you to do." You love primary songs and know a lot of them. We are so excited to watch you in your first primary program next month!!
Please remember your family loves you-no matter what. We would do anything and everything we can for you. You are so special to us. Please let us love you. Let us hug you when you feel like the world is caving in. Let us be your number one fan. DOn't be embarrassed by our love for you because it is real. Rememeber Heavenly Father loves you so much too. you are one of his chosen daugthers. You have so much to give this world. We love you, Tabitha. THank you somuch for coming to our family. Love,

Why single?

I remember being engaged and thinking "I can't wait til we're married and we can be together ALL the time." A married friend of mine said "yeah right. We see eachother less now." I didn't believe her :) Well, one month after graduation, babygirl came along. Hubby had a crappy job and didn't get any days off. Luckly she was born on a Sunday. We lived away from any family and dealt for a few days til help arrived. (more like cried and ate toast while never putting down a nursing baby). More school for hubby and Bugs came along. Hubby's don't get maternity leave when they're students...so again we dealt for a few days until help arrived. Moved onto Grad school. Took hubby to carpool every morning @ 6am and picked him up at 5:30pm. Dinner and kids in bed by 6:30 then studying til 10pm. Got a second car (hooray!) which allowed the kids to stay up later and sleep in...thus getting to see daddy more. 3rd year of grad school brought Sweets with it. Hubby got my text to meet me at the hospital. Left school and came over. Back at school the next day. No tears. Lots of help with friends this time :) And family arrived before I was even discharged! Baby #4 came 2 months before graduation…and shortly after we learned we did not match. ..so no job or place to go. we made it though-as you will see. Our caboose arrived at the beginning of our last year in residency. I started this blog when just 3 were at home. It's been a place for me to vent, rejoice, and basically be honest and real with out situation and that of many other students/residents/beginning doctors. Now are in our first year of our career and already we have seen several lows…but we keep chugging forward…and I'm happy to report, I'm not so single any more!
